More Than Two Million Go Abroad for Easter Break

ABTA - The Travel Association estimates two million British holidaymakers are set to head overseas over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend April 14 to 17 with tomorrow, Good Friday the busiest day for travel.

Spain is the UK's favourite foreign holiday destination for the weekend, with the Costa del Sol and the Canary and Balearic Islands the most popular regions.

New Awards Special to Airline Because of Customer Experience

Leading leisure airline Jet2.com, which operates 14 routes direct from Belfast International Airport, has scooped two accolades in the inaugural TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice awards for airlines, winning the Best Airline - UK and Best Low-Cost Airline - Europe prizes.

The awards, covering every major carrier worldwide, are based on an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of airline reviews and ratings submitted by travellers over the past 12 months.

Advice for Travellers Using Dublin Airport Over Easter

Almost 340,000 passengers are expected to travel through Dublin Airport this Easter Bank Holiday Weekend from tomorrow, Friday April 14 until Monday, April 17 representing a 12 per cent increase compared to last Easter.

"Over 2,300 flights are expected to arrive and depart this Easter Bank Holiday weekend," said Dublin Airport spokesperson Siobhan O'Donnell.

Record 2.2 million Passengers Travel Through Dublin Airport in March

Almost 2.2 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in March, a two per cent increase over the same period last year and a new record for the month.

Easter was in March last year which had an impact on the passenger numbers.

Cruise Line Offers More Round-trip Cruises to Cuba

Norwegian Cruise Line is to extend its offering of weekly roundtrip cruises from Miami to Cuba through 2018, with 33 new voyages The all-inclusive Norwegian Sky will begin her 2018 Cuba cruise season in March, sailing four-day roundtrip cruises from Miami, with 32 of the cruises to include an overnight stay in Cuba's historical and culturally-rich capital of Havana, as well as a call on Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas.

These new cruises will begin on 26 March 28, 2018 and are in addition to the previously announced 30 calls that Norwegian will offer through December 2017.
