Norwegian Confirms Two New Belfast-US Routes!

Low-cost airline Norwegian is launching its first ever flights from Belfast - and the airport's only direct transatlantic links - with a series of groundbreaking low-cost routes to the USA with fares starting from just £69.

From July, Norwegian will commence two never before seen routes from Belfast International Airport, offering five weekly flights direct to the greater New York and Boston areas.

New City of Derry-Stansted Schedule Announced

BMI regional has announced that it will begin twice flights from City of Derry Airport and London Stansted on Sunday March 26.

The service will include two return flights each day, except for Saturdays which will have one flight each way.

Two New Themed Hotels for Belfast

At least two new hotels - including a George Best themed hotel - are set to be developed in Belfast this year by luxury hotel developer Signature Living as a direct result of the city's attendance at the world's largest property investment event last year.

The announcement came today at the Waterfront Conference and Exhibition Centre as Belfast revealed that it will take its largest ever trade delegation when it returns to MIPIM in Cannes next month, with a record financial support of over £250,000 from private sector sponsors and stakeholders.

Puppies Prepare for Take Off

Flybe has welcomed nine Medical Alert Dogs on board as part of the dogs' comprehensive training and socialisation programme.

Organised by the charity Northern Ireland Assistance Dogs (NIAD) the aircraft visit was part of a familiarisation session of George Best Belfast City Airport where the dogs experienced all aspects of taking a flight from check-in to boarding.

Movie Release Causes Spike in Seattle Holiday Searches

Site data released by an online travel agency has revealed that the release of the movie Fifty Shades Darker has caused a surge of interest in holidays to Seattle.

Seattle is the destination in which most of the fictional 'Fifty Shades' trilogy is set - despite the majority of filming taking place in Vancouver.

Finnair's Flagship Aircraft on London Helsinki

Finnair has announced that their flagship long haul aircraft, the Airbus A350 XWB will operate a daily service between London Heathrow and Helsinki replacing the current Airbus A320 aircraft on the route.

From March 27, 2017 passengers travelling on flights AY832 between London and Helsinki and AY831 between Helsinki and London will be able to enjoy long haul levels of comfort and space on board the world's most modern commercial aircraft throughout the short flight of 2 hours and 55 minutes.

Tour Guide Wins Experience of a Lifetime!

A tour guide from Dublin has won the experience of a lifetime, after being selected from over 75,000 UK and Irish applications to travel the world over a three week period as Royal Caribbean International's official Instagrammer.

Lucky Ciara Flynn, who earns a living working as a tour guide for European coach network Busabout, will spend three weeks travelling three oceans, on three ships this summer; with all of her food, drink, accommodation, entertainment, flights and expenses covered by Royal Caribbean. In addition, the budding snapper will also receive £3,000.

Schiphol Airport Set to Introduce Ultraviolet Scanners

Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam will become the first in the world to use new ultraviolet scanners to detect explosives and drugs in shoes.

The non-invasive Delta R scanner was created by Stage Gate (SG) 11 and is designed to detect explosives and drugs without human involvement.
