Belfast City Forum Discusses Air Passengers' Needs

The ever-changing commercial requirements and needs of airline passengers have been discussed at a special forum hosted by George Best Belfast City Airport.

Partner airports throughout the UK attended the forum to discuss the subject - the first time ever a group of airports have come together to collectively discuss commercial strategy, challenges and trends in relation to the retail offering, car park products, currency exchange and car hire options available at airports.

Ryanair Announces Seat Sale to Mark Summer 2017 Routes

Ryanair, Europe's biggest airline, has this week launched its Belfast summer 2017 schedule, with 11 routes including Berlin, London and Milan, which will deliver 1.1m customers per annum and support more than 800 jobs at Belfast International Airport.

The airline also revealed that its existing Glasgow and Liverpool services from City of Derry could also be moved to Belfast International in the future.

Ian, and Young Cavan, Big Winners at Cruise Fair

A trip to the Oasis Travel Northern Ireland Cruise Fair at Titanic Belfast last week was the starting point for a free Mediterranean cruise for Lisburn man Ian Green.

Ian was the lucky winner of the charity raffle at the fair and early next year he'll be whisking his mum off to enjoy a seven night luxury cruise on board Royal Caribbean's 'Freedom Of The Seas' courtesy of Oasis Travel.

Departures Floor at Dublin T1 Being Replaced

The Departures Floor in Dublin Airport's Terminal 1 is to be replaced as part of the 10 million Euro upgrade project.

Parts of the floor have been upgraded several times over the past four decades but in some areas the original tiling laid when the building opened in 1972 is still in place.

Passengers flying with Jet2.com spend more on board on extras than those with rivals Ryanair and easyJet.

Indeed Jet2.com has the second highest ancillary revenue per passenger out of 67 airlines around the world, according to a new study.

Bargain Off-Peak Fares Go on Sale

Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline, has today announced it has hundreds of bargain fares on sale featuring more than 200 popular routes in its latest Farecracker offering.

Each month, Flybe highlights a window of opportunity for customers to buy the best possible fares for upcoming flights. Seats, from £27.99 one way including taxes and charges, are available for booking through to September 27, 2016 and effective for travel between 1st November 1 and January 4, 2017.

UK Gappers Are Older Than You Think

It's traditionally thought that gap years are for students taking time out before entering the world of work, however research from Sainsbury's Bank Travel Money reveals that people aged between 26 and 40 are actually the most likely to do so.

The survey asked people how old they were when they took a gap year: 34 per cent were between 26-40 years old, 28 per cent were between 20 and 25 years old, followed by pre-University 18-19 year-olds (19 per cent).
