South Africa a direct option

A DUBLIN tour operator is considering expanding its South African options to the Province.
Slattery's Sun already operates charter flights during the summer months from City of Derry Airport to
Lanzarote. But Project Manager Andre Migliarina, speaking at Belfast Holidayworld, revealed that the company is
considering putting on a couple of charter flights from Belfast to South Africa next winter season.
"Our South African flights from Dublin are going very well, and we have noticed a lot of interest from
Northern Ireland. "We need to make a decision in the next few months possibly to get something up and running before the
end of 2005."
The Slattery's Sun representative also revealed that the company may also extend its Lanzarote programme to
Belfast.
"We are pleased at the way things have gone at City of Derry, and have considered the possibility of Belfast
departures."
South Africa is one of the strongest long haul destinations from Northern Ireland, with an important
visiting friends and relatives market in addition to purely leisure travel to one of the world's most
alluring destinations.
