Passport prices to rise

Holidaymakers will be forced to pay £66 for a standard British passport from October -

The cost of a child's travel document will leap to £45, the Home Office said that, from October 5, a standard ten-year British passport will cost £66, up from the current £51 or a 29 per cent rise. But the last rise was only in December 2005, when fees went up from £42. It gives a £24 rise, or 57 per cent, in less than a year.
