Blackpool set for bumper season

BLACKPOOL, Britain's top family resort is enjoying a great flurry of early bookings. Now with direct daily flights from Belfast and Dublin, plus a wide choice of ferry crossings, accessibility to the resort is now better than ever.

Ken Lendrum, Blackpool Tourism's spokesman for Ireland, says that if the present level of bookings and enquiries continue, the resort will enjoy a bumper summer season.

The other good news is that Blackpool Tourism has developed a new website.

This new website will provide all the information a Blackpool visitor will require in 2006. Now easier to navigate, and jam-packed with information on What's On for 2006, www.visitblackpool.com <http://www.visitblackpool.com/> is the most comprehensive guide to Britain's most popular holiday resort.

Vibrant nightlife, world-class shows, cosmopolitan restaurants, an active sports scene, taller, faster roller coasters, and breathtakingly beautiful scenery makes it Britain's top family spot.

Whether it's a nostalgic stroll through the modern glitz and glamour of the world famous Golden Mile, a ride on a traditional tram, a visit to the splendour of the famous Tower Ballroom, Blackpool conjures up all the nostalgia of bygone days.

Throughout the season there is an abundance of top class variety shows right up until the end of October. Choose from the theatrical circus musical Eclipse, Hot Ice, the longest running Ice Show or the magical Mysterious Illusion of Mystique at the Pleasure Beach. At Blackpool Tower there is an undercover playground with floor upon floor of amazing adventures, from the grace and splendour of the beautiful Victorian Ballroom, to the spectacular views from the Tower top. The award winning Tower Circus opens on April 8 and runs through to Nov 5.

And during July and August there is Kidz Megafest, a haven of children's entertainment. All this plus more than 30 night spots and fun pubs for you to enjoy.

For information on accommodation, shows, and What's On in Blackpool, log on to the Blackpool website or call the Blackpool Visitor Centre on 01253 478 222.
