NORTHERN Ireland is getting yet another low-cost air route to the sun.Budget airline Jet2, based in Leeds, is introducing a new service to Murcia
in Spain from Belfast International Airport next summer.
The airline said it was initially planning Saturday and Sunday flights for July, August and September 2006 - with more flights to follow.
Jet2 said fares would start at £41 single and that it is already taking bookings.
The budget airline's chief Philip Meeson said: "This area of Spain is hugely popular with tourists from both Northern Ireland and the Republic.
"We will be offering genuinely low fares from Belfast to the Spanish Costas."
Jet2 already operates popular servides to Barcelona and Prague from Belfast International Airport, and this summer started a new seasonal service to
Bournemouth. This news is another boost for Belfast International Airport, following the launch of prestige routes to New York (Newark) by Continental Airlines, and a weekly service to Toronto by Zoom Airlines recently. Zoom have also announced plans to fly to Vancouver from Belfast next summer.
