Glasgow Launches Autumn Break Campaign

Art enthusiasts, food lovers, shopaholics and culture vultures in Northern Ireland are being encouraged to take an Autumn break to Glasgow as the City Marketing Bureau (GCMB) joins forces with Stena Line to create a range of great value short breaks to discover the hidden gems of our Celtic cousins.

GCMB is also working with Glasgow Restaurants Association, Glasgow’s Leading Attractions and the Mackintosh Heritage Group to promote the great food, amazing architecture, fantastic shopping and fun attractions that are just a short ferry crossing away. 2012 is the year of Creative Scotland and the work of innovative Glasgow Art Nouveau architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh is being celebrated in a two week festival from October 15–28.

Another Gatwick Flight and Onboard Catering Boosted

Northern Ireland’s largest airline is to increase its flights between Belfast International Airport and London Gatwick in response to high demand.

A 10.15am flight from Belfast and a 12.05pm flight from London Gatwick will be added to the schedule from December 20. Flights are now on sale at the airline's website with fares from £20.99, one way including taxes.

Smoother Transatlantic Travel Thanks to New Agreement

Air Canada and Aer Lingus have signed an interline agreement to make flying between Ireland and Canada more convenient for passengers. The agreement takes immediate effect and is a preliminary step toward a full code-sharing relationship expected to be finalised next year between the Canadian and Irish flag carriers.

“Air Canada is pleased to interline with Aer Lingus as it will complement our Dublin-Toronto seasonal service to make it easy to fly year-round between Ireland and Canada via convenient connections through London Heathrow, Air Canada’s largest international station. "We intend to follow through with other measures to enhance the experience for customers travelling between Ireland and Canada, including a full code share relationship with Aer Lingus beginning next year, the planned relocation of both carriers to Terminal 2 at Heathrow to facilitate connections and following that the introduction of year-round flights between Ireland and Canada,” said Gary Cross, General Manager Europe, Middle East, Africa and India at Air Canada.
