Ferry Company Takes the Lead
Tuesday, 31 August 2010 A new Dog Lodge area has been introduced onboard their ships on the Belfast-Liverpool route. A problem often faced by dog owners is what to do with their pet, when they go on holidays or short breaks. Although dogs can't fly, they can sail, thanks to DFDS. One of the ferry company's competitive advantages over airlines is that they are able to carry pet dogs. So, to ensure all the canine passengers enjoy their travel, arriving fresh and rested, just like their owners, Norfolkline has created a 'Dog Lodge' on the Port side of the Promenade deck on the Lagan and Mersey Seaways vessels, providing access for dog owners to their pet throughout the duration of the journey. As a result, passengers are not only able to visit their dog whilst onboard the ship but they will also be able to exercise them under controlled conditions. A number of dog kennels are available on the Belfast / Liverpool sailings and can be booked for £15 per single journey. On the Dublin sailings the kennels are on a first come first serve basis. Any foot passengers or cyclists travelling with their dog must place their dog in a kennel onboard. |
