Keith Prowse Future in Doubt

Doubt surrounds the future of the Keith Prowse ticketing empire after its parent company Seatem Attraction Tickets ceased trading.

Reports said the company was planning to call in the administrators as it undergoes what is described as "a financial restructuring to secure its future."

Seatem Attraction Tickets trades as Keith Prowse Tickets and Theme Park Tickets Direct. Theme Park Tickets Direct reportedly ceased trading yesterday and last night retail consultants at Keith Prowse Tickets were telling customers they could not take bookings for theme park tickets and that they expected further information after management meetings today.

Trade partners were said to have been kept fully up to date with the situation and some had put Keith Prowse on 'stop sell' yesterday.

The future of the Keith Prowse brand, one of the oldest travel brands in the world which dates back to 1780, will now be determined in the next days and weeks by administrators.

It has been reported that the company are to close their contact centre in County Donegal with the loss of 50 jobs.

The contact centre, based in Lisfannon, Buncrana will close with immediate effect.

The group's Chief Executive Paul Burns said that the call centre, which handles ticket sales for entertainment events, will officially close it doors on Sunday.

Mr Burns said that many of the workers have already been let go.

He said: 'The company has suspended trading for the moment pending possible restructure. We are waiting for the appointment of the administrators.'

Mr Burns added that there were a number of factors involved in the decision to close, which he said was taken 'in the best interest of the company and its creditors'.

Meanwhile, confused Keith Prowse customers travelling next week who haven't been issued with their tickets have been inundating Williams Travel in Belfast, which comes under the Keith Prowse umbrella with angry calls.
