UK Travellers Opt for a Nap at the Airport

While airport queues are driving travellers around the bend, a new survey has revealed how UK holidaymakers would rather spend their time at the terminal.

The results found the British to be a nation of nappers, with more than half (53 per cent) telling the travel add-ons company HolidayExtras that additional sleeping areas would be at the top of their airport services wish list.

Although some ladies have other ideas on their mind... the research found that a fifth of women would swap their beauty sleep for some pre-holiday preening, suggesting that airports should introduce beauty parlours or hairdressers.

While women want to be pampered, almost a third of men said that an area with gadgets and games consoles would be their ideal way to pass the time.

Gambling and drink-fuelled partying was definitely not on most people's agenda, with just three per cent finding the idea of an airport casino appealing, and no-one opting for an on-airport nightclub!

Wet June Boosts Holiday Bookings

It may be depressing times for the home holiday market with the current terrible weather, but Northern Ireland's third wettest June on record is good news for tour operators. Bookings are booming with consumers looking to get away from yet another gloomy summer.

And with June proving to be a total washout tour operator Falcon Holidays couldn’t have picked a better time to launch its Summer Sun 2013 programme. The brochure promises to be the solution to help banish the blues and whether it’s an escape from the unpredictable weather, the economy or the monotony of the daily grind there are a wide range of holidays to suit all tastes and enable everyone to look forward to a sunny 2013, says the company.

Exciting news for Northern Ireland holidaymakers is that Falcon is adding new direct flights from Belfast International to Sharm El Sheikh in the Red Sea Riviera and from City of Derry to Lanzarote for the summer 2013 programme.

Falcon Holidays General Manager for Ireland Carol Anne O’Neill says that everyone deserves a break in the sun in 2013. “With the Northern Irish weather as it is, everyone deserves some much needed sunshine in their lives and as Northern Ireland’s leading family holiday provider we pride ourselves on delivering this and enabling people to get away from it all, if only for a week or two. Holidays are made for spending some much needed quality time together, whether it be as a family or as a couple,” she said.

“Falcon Holidays’ exclusive Holiday Villages and SplashWorld resorts remain firm family favourites and many of our properties include free Falcon Kids Clubs or on site entertainment. We are constantly reviewing what our customers are looking for and have introduced a new Pirates Village holiday concept in Majorca, only available to Falcon customers. We have also added new direct flights from Belfast to the Red Sea Riviera and from City of Derry to Lanzarote,” said Carol Anne.

Falcon’s Summer 2013 programme offers adult prices from £259pp and family prices from just £899 for a family of four. On top of this there are savings to be made with offers of free child places, one parent family savings, free upgrades and savings of £120 per couple.
